CHANEL
In 1910, Chanel the fashion brand was founded by the couturier Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel. Born in 1883, Coco began originally making hats for upscale clientele later branching into clothing. After closing her couture house during the occupation of Paris during World War 2, the label successfully re-launched her designs in 1953. By this time Coco was 70 years old.
Two years later she designed the now internationally recognised iconic quilted handbag with gilt chain, naming it the ‘2.55’ after its date of conception, February 1955. In 1971 Chanel passed away. In 1983 designer Karl Lagerfeld took over the boutique and accessories collections. Lagerfeld designs have since catapulted the brand into the public eye as we see it today. Vintage Chanel bags and jewellery are our no.1 most sought after designer brand.
We have earned a reputation for having the best ‘edit’, stocking sought after pieces including vintage Chanel Gripoix jewellery, vintage statement jewellery and belts, quilted lamb and calf skin totes, and shoulder bags as well as the occasional jersey evening clutches.
