SOLD - Genuine Christian Larcoix sun burst brooch, circa 1980s

Christian Larcoix was a french couture designer launching his business in 1987, though it was commercially successful it wasn't until the early 1990s that it was propelled to fame by Eddy and Patsy of TV show Absolutely fabulous, as it was Eddy's favourite designer brand.  

Vintage Larcoix along with YSL, Sona Rykiel to name but a few are having a bit of a vintage revival this is due sought after 1950-80s designer Robert Gossens, who in fact was first sought after by Chanel, who approached him to design exclusively for Chanel her costume jewellery line in 1953. When you look at all his designs for Larcoix, YSL and Chanel et al they have a similar 'feel' he is famed for his use of gold and enamel work and signature style of bold byzantium style. Gossen pieces itself are highly sought after. The house of Gossen still exist today and continue to design for Chanel and is now run by his son and daughter.

Lovely gold plated 'sun burst' design brooch. The brooch does have a minor discolouration in the middle of the brooch where the gold plating has come off measuring approx 0.3cm. Christian Larcoix signature stamping. Overall the brooch is in excellent condition, lovely collectable piece.
