WHEN DID YOU START YOUR BLOG AND WHY?

I started blogging about 3 and a half years ago, it was just one of those ‘I fancy giving that a go moments’, I had no idea of the crazy journey it would take me on! I have always loved sharing information about my favourite fashion and beauty favourites, but it really was a complete whim!

HOW MUCH HAS CHANGED SINCE YOU STARTED? IS IT A COMPETITIVE MARKET?

Gosh, so much has changed since I started blogging! When I started it was a hobby and no-one was really ‘professionally blogging’ and if they were, I wasn’t aware of it! I hate to say it, but blogging can be quite competitive. There is a handful of bloggers out there who are quite fame-hungry, so it can be quite intimidating. The best way to describe it is like actors at auditions trying to psyche each other out before big opportunities. However, there are plenty of amazing bloggers out there who are fun, supportive and amazing girls, so don’t let that put you off!

ANY TOP TIPS FOR BUDDING BLOGGERS OUT THERE?

For me the best tips are the same as the rules for life, do what you love, work hard, be nice and have fun! Don’t be afraid to be different to everyone else, your differences are what make you stand out. It’s important to find your unique voice and style and have fun with it! Eventually you will need to start thinking about buying cameras, lenses, SEO, themes etc, but to begin with, just try to develop your writing and photography style!

WHO IS YOUR STYLE INFLUENCER?

Oh good question, I think I have a huge mix of influences, from my super stylish friends, my sister, bloggers (I love Sea of Shoes, Beckerman Sisters, Kayla Hadlington, Meet Me In Paree and Lazy Kat) musicians like Courtney Love, Lana Del Rey, Paloma Faith and Gwen Stefani. I love a little glamour and colour, I love fashion which is uplifting and exciting.

VINTAGE OR NEW?

I’m such a vintage girl! I have been dressing in vintage since I was 13, but I love to mix old and new to keep things modern and exciting. If you are buying vintage designer, it’s paramount to buy from a trusted source, like Vintage Heirloom. I would never advise buying off Ebay or taking a gamble on something from Gumtree. If something seems too good to be true, it probably is!

WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST CHANEL PIECE?

My first piece of Chanel was a hairclip. I think I had seen someone wearing one in a magazine shoot, I thought it looked so chic and unusual and I loved the fact it was a little less obvious than a handbag or necklace. I told my boyfriend about how I had been planning on buying myself one, so he surprised me with one for Christmas a month later. I had assumed the price was about £150 and I think I mentioned this to him at the time. When he went in store to buy it, he wasn’t wearing his glasses and didn’t realize until he was hanging over his card that it actually cost over £500!

WHAT IS YOUR MOST TREASURED PIECE?

The hairclip is quite special to me, I also love my candy necklace, it was from the supermarket collection which I loved the second I saw it on the catwalk. It’s so fun and so original, I couldn’t resist it! I have a classic flap in bright green too, which I love. I love buying limited seasonal pieces which soon become rare and sort after. It makes it so much more special!

HOW WILL YOU WEAR YOUR GREY CHANEL BAG?

Ah the grey Chanel! It’s so chic and minimalist! It’s from the highly coveted Millennium collection, I love the simple yet classic design with the grid detailing, it’s lightweight and a great size, so it makes a perfect day bag for the winter months. I think it will look great with simple trainers or black boots, a sleek coat and a big woolly scarf.

ANY RECOMMENDATIONS FOR A TRIP TO MARGATE? ANY GREAT PLACES TO BUY VINTAGE?

I just moved to Margate from East London, so I’m still exploring, but I love to so much! There are lots of independent cafes and restaurants, as well as vintage stores like Madame Pop-off (great for clothes) and Hunkydory (best for furniture). In terms of things to do; Dreamland is a vintage theme park which is an absolute must, and I love Turner Contemporary Art Gallery. You can’t leave Marga without a visit to Shell Grotto, which is a series of underground passages and rooms which are covered completely with shells. It’s a bit spooky as no-one knows when or why it was made, but it’s quite magical and it’s nicknamed ‘Shellhenge’. Fish and Chips are a seaside essential, Pete’s on the seafront is my favourite in the summer you can eat them on the beach!

WHAT FASHION BRAND WOULD YOU EAT FOR LUNCH?

It would be Moschino as a main, as I bet it would be burgers and fries, I would eat Chanel for desert, as I know that would be fancy french cream cakes!! Oh yum!!!
